This little baby…

As I take uncertain steps forward in the fog of self-publishing, I would be lost without this little baby…

The title implies that I am ‘a sane person’ which is always reassuring. Apart from that, it is like having a friend by my side, holding my hand, every step of the way – this would be an entertaining, opinionated and laugh-out-loud friend. Which is always good.

Tip: If you, too, are dipping your toes into the dark and mysterious waters of self-publishing, might I suggest a physical copy? I bought the ebook but, as it has become a bible, I’m now going to treat myself a printed copy. Trust me, it is a treat. It might even save your life.

Something Wonderful

OK, I’m too late for today, but from now on, I’m going to start each day with the words, ‘Something wonderful is going to happen today.’

Why?

Well, apart from the fact that a friend who has just had amazing news does this, it means that, everyday, I’ll be expecting something wonderful. Then, no matter how small that wonderful thing is, I’ll notice it.

This is the new positive me. The person who is changing her approach to the world, not just the world of publishing. And now – even though I didn’t tell myself anything this morning – I am going to do something that is wonderful for me.

I am going to put my first book as Aimee Alexander up on Amazon. Pause to Rewind is a book that I love, featuring a little boy called Charlie, one of the most favourite of all the characters I’ve written. I have never been more excited about a book cover, a book cover I help to design.

So, deep breath, here goes. I’m going to cut the virtual ribbon and self-publish my first book. Maybe it’s not too late to say it. ‘Something wonderful is going to happen today.’
